As I planned for the arrival of my sweet little baby Jack , I thought it would be fun to revisit some of the most popular, as well as personal favorite, blog posts over the past two years of blogging. This blog has grown so much that there are MANY posts that just very well may be new to you. I will be publishing this 8-post series every Friday during the next months as I rest and settle into a new life with 3 little ones three and under. I could use a few prayers too 😉
I hope you enjoy reading, or re-reading, these posts as much as I enjoyed going through the archives, finding some forgotten about gems. Read all the posts here
Today I’m sharing some of my favorite posts on books. It’s no secret that I not only love to read, but I love books as well. I love getting lost in a compelling story, have my thoughts challenged, learn new lessons or devour the pages of a beautifully illustrated book. As a mom, nothing brings me more pleasure than to watch my kids dig into their book baskets and bring me book after book to read to them (although I will admit to wanting to hide a few books after one to many read throughs!) Books are friends to me, and reading is good for my soul.
In no particular order… here are my top favorite book and reading posts!
This 6-part series was so enlightening! I’m a comfort food eater, always have been but didn’t want to fall into the lie that I always would be. Through the course of the book I learned so many important lessons and truths that I shared. As I’m beginning to work off some baby weight, it’s about time I go back and revisit some of these truths.
Ever go into someone’s house and browse their bookshelves? I do all the time. You can really tell a lot about the person by the books they have on their shelves. In this post I give you a shelf by shelf break down of all the books on my shelves. Although since this post was written about a year a half ago, it’s probably time I update it again as a few things have changed!
I love that we live in a day and age where we have so many choices to quality Bible study and devotional materials. These are among my personal favorites, ones that I use often and keep on rotation in my Bible book basket.
Thanks to huge bundle sales and my weakness for free Kindle books, my digital book files where an overflowing mess, and I know I’m not the only one! I decided that once and for all I would organize all those files, and yes even delete a few! This post walks you through step-by-step how I organize all my digital books.
I’m a traditional book lover but I also love my Kindle. Can there be a balance between the two? I think so and I share my thoughts on the matter.
One of my favorite reads of 2014, was this book that I got the chance to be on the launch team for. Part personal memoir, part intentional living tips, Notes from a Blue Bike had me captivated from the beginning.
I often get asked how I fin the time to read with little ones. While it’s not as much time currently as I have read in seasons pasts, I still make an effort to carve out time to do something I love.
Sometimes there are so many books that we want to read it can almost seem overwhelming which is why I think it’s a good idea to make a reading plan. Highlighting the books you want to read and creating reading goals can help you read the books you actually want to this year.
These were my favorite books from two years ago. I always love going back and reviewing books I have read in the past. Some of these books I would love to re-read again in the future.
Passing on the love of reading to my kids is a passion of mine which is why I keep baskets of books all over my home. These 21 books are stories that I pretty much have memorized because we have read them so much but I know there will be a day in to not so far off future where my kids won’t need me to read to them so I’m cherishing my time together reading these beloved books as much as possible.
So that’s my list… What are your favorite book related posts?
