Organizing Your Wardrobe {Part Two}
This year let’s create a haven at home with the 52-week home project. Small, manageable weekly tasks and challenges to create a space that promotes peace, inspires creativity, nurtures your family and is not only more organized but also runs with more purpose and intention.

Last Week’s Project
Now that we have tackled half of our wardrobe, let’s tackle the other half! The following assignments below follows the plan outlined in Simply Dressed if you want more detail and explanation.
As a note, I am still talking about your personal wardrobe this week. If you have spare time and want to tackle your children’s closets you can, but spend the bulk of your time and effort on this week’s project on your own closet.
Project #15: Organizing Your Wardrobe {Part Two}
This week we are going to finish sorting through your clothing in your closet. As the weather is turning warmer, this is the perfect time to sort through your winter clothing and pull out any spring and summer clothing you have packed away.
- Day 7: The Unmentionables (your underwear drawer)
- Day 8: Winter Coats and Accessories
- Day 9: Packed up or stored clothing
- Day 10: Organizing Your New Closet
- Day 11: Putting Together Some New Outfits
- Day 12: Making a Plan for Your Wants and Needs List

A New Project for a New Week
Each week I’ll share a new challenge to help us tackle one small area of our homes.
Some weeks it might be a deep cleaning task, some weeks it might be a decluttering task, some weeks it might be a challenge to help you create a space you love, and some weeks it might be a combination of a few different challenges.
The goal for the 52-Week Home Project is to have a home that is not only more organized but also runs with more purpose and intention and just feels more peaceful and calm.
The Next Project
The last area of our wardrobe is not really in our wardrobe at it but plays a huge part in our daily getting dressed and ready for the day… the bathroom.
Whether you take your shower at night or in the morning, you still spend time washing your face, putting on makeup or fixing your hair everyday and these products can quickly get out of hand. Sometimes the drawers or cabinets around or under your bathroom sink area can really be a cluttered mess, often filled with products you don’t need or haven’t used.
So this week we are going to clean it up by removing everything and organizing. If you have time to tackle the bathroom cabinets of the rest of your family, then go for it (with their permission and/or help of course!) but make sure you take YOUR bathroom area first, as that is the main focus this week.
Project #16 Bathroom Organization {Organizing Your Wardrobe Part Three}
- Empty all of your drawers, shower or cabinets where you house your personal beauty and hygiene supplies.
- Sort through your beauty products. Get rid of anything you haven’t used or is past it’s the expiration date. If possible, combine half-empty bottles of the same product if you have multiples.
- Before you put anything away, clean out the inside of the drawer, cabinet or basket with warm soapy water removing any dirt, dust, hair or makeup. This also includes organizers you use inside the drawers or cabinets.
- Give the shower and sink/countertop area in your bathroom a good cleaning as well, removing any empty shampoo or body wash bottles.
- Clean your makeup brushes and hair combs. This is also a good time to clean and sort through any hair clips, barrettes, bobby pins, hair ties or other accessories.
- Evaluate the beauty and hygiene products you really need, and what you use most often. Is there a way to simplify your morning process of getting ready?
- Make a list of any products you are running low on and you need to purchase.
- Put everything away in an organized way by grouping like items together (hair products, makeup, facial care, etc.)
